KATIE JOUBERT-RETIRED
As an interior designer where do you go for inspiration?
I find cultural experiences important to incorporate into my palate. I turn to museums or walk through a city for architectural details and scale. Books and conversations with mentors and their observations on life and lifestyles, sometimes it’s as simple as an outstanding photograph.Traveling to new scenery and landscapes. Inspiration can also come from conversations in our office or helping a colleague sort out a problem.
What didn’t they tell you in design school that you wish you would have known?
That a degree in Textile Production and Design can lead to a career in Interior Design! I studied the design and fabrication of fabrics and it directly ties into a love of color, texture and interior design.
